Lynne Simmons has served AMT as an administrative assistant for 3 years and deals with clients such as Nakanishi (her favorite project due to the variety of work), Hyatt Place, and many others. Before working at AMT Lynne worked at ARMC, Louisiana-Pacific Corp. and then finally General Time in Athens in the design department assisting them in designing clocks and cholesterol monitoring devices. I interviewed Lynne and found a history-loving lady who would love to travel more. Lynne’s favorite travel spot which she has yet to visit is New Zealand. If she could be anyone from any time period she would be.
AMT is very fortunate to have Weston Baumgartner working here! We just had to make him the first official Employee Spotlight. Although he started out his education at the Georgia Institute of Technology, Weston perfected his resume by receiving a Master of Architecture from Boston Architectural College. Obviously, he missed Georgia and came back…we are happy about that. At AMT he provides exceptional work as a Project Manager and has won awards to prove it. He received the Athens Heritage Historic Preservation Award for his design on 160 Tracy Street, a historical warehouse space turned entertaining venue. Other projects which received the Athens.
Mr. Thurmond, a University of Georgia alumni and on the Board of the Alumni Association, has started teaching as an adjunct professor at the UGA College of Engineering. In his class students learn to work on residential projects as if they were working in the real world. He enjoys teaching and feels like he can contribute to the student body at UGA.
