Bret Thurmond, President of AMT, oversees all firm operations and specializes in a multidisciplinary, team based approach to design and construction. He provides direct oversight and management of civil, structural, electrical, mechanical and plumbing engineering services. Holding a bachelor and masters degree from UGA and Virginia Polytechnical Ag Engineering Schools respectively, he also brings immense experience to the team with over 30 years of practice in 13 states.

Working with multi-municipalities in Georgia including CDBG, EIT and other government funded projects and expertise in construction management and administration, Bret provides quality technical, design and administrative services. Bret’s experience includes new construction and rehabilitation of water and wastewater utilities, including planning, design, construction management and inspection of distribution and treatment facilities, storm water drainage projects and road projects.

David has practiced architecture for almost four decades and is currently Partner in Charge of Architecture at AMT as well as Vice President. A graduate of the University of Tennessee and registered in 12 states, he is the former President of the American Institute of Architects-Georgia. Prior to joining the company; he was senior architect with the office of Campus Planning at the University of Georgia in Athens, GA.

David provides a wide range of architectural services, from complete facility design to adaptive re-use of historic buildings to the modification of existing structures. He works closely with the civil engineering division to develop a complete, design-to-occupancy team approach to each project. Known for his quality work and ability to tackle challenging projects, he has been involved in programming, planning studies, schematic designs and working drawings for all types of commercial and residential projects. His love of community is seen in all his architectural endeavors.

Chase is a graduate of the LeTourneau University’s Civil Engineering program and a Professional Engineer in Georgia. He is a project manager focused on overall civil site design, planning, site hydrology and water and waste water treatment.

His experience extends to civil design, site design, storm water drainage analysis and special inspections of existing structures and construction oversight. Chase is proficient in CAD drafting, hydraulic computer modeling, Auto Turn- 2D 3D for truck/semi-trailer modeling, spreadsheet and database analysis.

Weston is a registered architect with two decades of experience in design and construction and a graduate of Georgia Institute of Technology and Boston Architectural College, where he received a Masters in Architecture. He thoughtfully integrates high performance designs with functionality and sustainable approaches to weave buildings that are responsive to their community and geography. His experience includes the full range of architectural services and project delivery methods for historic preservation, multi-family and single-family residential design, commercial and tenant fit out, hospitality, medical facility design and construction, manufacturing facilities, and restaurant design.
