AMT received the Project of Excellence Award from the American Society of Civil Engineers for our work on the Food Bank of Northeast Georgia. The award was given to an outstanding project of merit that contributes to the well-being of people and communities. An award was presented to AMT and Oak House distillery by Historic Athens. David Matheny and his team were recognized for preserving the character and restoring the Historic Henry Bishop House by winning the Adaptive Reuse of a Historic Building Award. For more information on this project:
David Matheny, our Director of Architecture and Vice-President, and his team were honored by being awarded with an Outstanding Adaptive Reuse Award for his architectural services of the Deupree Building at 458 E. Clayton St. in downtown Athens which was a transformation of a former dilapidated retail store into an apartment building with commercial space on the bottom floor. See before and after photos below. An award was given by the Athens-Clarke Heritage Foundation for the Outstanding Rehabilitation of 187 N. Lumpkin St., the Emporium salon building in downtown Athens, renovated by owners Myrna and Denny Field with the assistance of David Matheny. The before and after photos speak for themselves. During the 48th Annual Preservation Awards Ceremony for projects completed in 2016 by the Athens-Clarke Heritage Foundation, David Matheny, our Director of Architecture and Vice-President, won several awards for his contribution to the preservation of historical buildings. Firstly, one award was for the Outstanding Rehabilitation of 187 N. Lumpkin St., the Emporium salon building in downtown Athens, renovated by owners Myrna and Denny Field with the assistance of David Matheny. An Outstanding Adaptive Reuse Award was given to Mr. Matheny for his architectural services of the Deupree Building at 458 E. Clayton St. in downtown Athens which was a transformation of the former.
