Hiring Summer Civil Engineering Intern (Fall and Spring at a later date)

You will learn to: Design with AutoCAD Civil 3D Perform Hydraulic computer modeling Modeling with Auto Turn- 2D and 3D Site Design Construction Oversight Analyze survey reports, maps, and other data to plan projects Compile and submit permit applications to local, state, and federal agencies verifying that projects comply with various regulations Perform feasibility assessments and site inspections Review government regulations and ordinances Some experience with AutoCad is required. Students will be working with the water, sewer and utility design team and others with the site design team. Since we are a small company (25 employees), you will be exposed.

AMT Awarded the Design of the Food Bank of NE Georgia Expansion

AMT was awarded the Architectural and Engineering Design of this new expansion. We are thrilled to be part of this project with Athens-Clarke County, Food Bank of NE Georgia and Kevin Price Construction (KPC)!  The new, 60,000 SF warehouse facility will serve as the primary base of operations for the Northeast region of the food bank network. Food Bank of NE Georgia is an integral organization for not only our ACC community but many north Georgia ones and the expansion AMT is designing and KPC constructing will benefit so many more people in need.

Must have EIT or PE license 1 year experience in engineering work/internships. Award for Outstanding Adaptive Reuse for the Dupree Building at 458 E. Clayton Street

Awards, September 8, 2017

David Matheny, our Director of Architecture and Vice-President, and his team were honored by being awarded with an Outstanding Adaptive Reuse Award for his architectural services of the Deupree Building at 458 E. Clayton St. in downtown Athens which was a transformation of a former dilapidated retail store into an apartment building with commercial space on the bottom floor. See before and after photos below. Award for the Outstanding Rehabilitation of the Emporium

An award was given by the Athens-Clarke Heritage Foundation for the Outstanding Rehabilitation of 187 N. Lumpkin St., the Emporium salon building in downtown Athens, renovated by owners Myrna and Denny Field with the assistance of David Matheny. The before and after photos speak for themselves. David Matheny wins historical awards from the Athens-Clarke Heritage Foundation

During the 48th Annual Preservation Awards Ceremony for projects completed in 2016 by the Athens-Clarke Heritage Foundation, David Matheny, our Director of Architecture and Vice-President, won several awards for his contribution to the preservation of historical buildings. Firstly, one award was for the Outstanding Rehabilitation of 187 N. Lumpkin St., the Emporium salon building in downtown Athens, renovated by owners Myrna and Denny Field with the assistance of David Matheny. An Outstanding Adaptive Reuse Award was given to Mr. Matheny for his architectural services of the Deupree Building at 458 E. Clayton St. in downtown Athens which was a transformation of the former.
