The project involved the preservation of a one story 8,500 sq. ft. historic ice plant, constructed ca. 1905, for use as a welcome center, museum, meeting facility and office space. While maintaining its original industrial character, the building provides flexible programming with up-to-date technology. Collaborating with the City, AMT developed a plan that retained and showcased the building’s original light industrial character on the interior as well as the exterior, and met the City’s program goals and provided the City flexibility of use within the public use areas. AMT obtained 100% funding for this project from the Department of Transportation (DOT). The building now houses meeting rooms, reception.
