Hiring Full-Time Environmental Engineer

Full-time Environmental Engineer to prepare site designs which include septic, sizing detention ponds, pipe networks, runoff reduction treatments, erosion control and tree management; ensure design specifications align to safety standards and governmental regulations for residences, commercial buildings, manufacturing plants and institutions; gather necessary measurements, dimensions, and other routine calculations for design layouts; provide clients with suitable design recommendations based on factors such as budget, building site, and recent trends; use CAD software to produce plans for management and client approval; rework and modify designs based on comments and reviews from management and clients; prepare flight tasks for the drone; analyze survey reports, maps, and other data to plan projects; compile and submit permit applications to local, state, and federal agencies in compliance with various regulations; develop detailed designs of grading, utility, pre and post developed plans; perform feasibility assessments and site inspections; ensure all vital information and documentation is recorded and maintained; collect environmental samples including air, water, and soil; create internal and external documents such as research papers, articles, and presentations; carry out technical and feasibility studies and draw civil site development plans that satisfy technical specifications and municipality requirements and GA State Stormwater Manual; comply with guidelines and regulations including permits, safety, etc.; excellent knowledge of design and visualizations software such as Civil 3D, Hydraflow, and Storm Sewers; proficiency in site layout, grading, hydrology, utility design, erosion control, regulatory approvals, etc.; work with consultants and client staff to perform business process/work method assessments, conduct project research/data collection, perform analyses, and generate reports; support the planning, design, and implementation of operations and maintenance optimization and capital renewal program strategies for water, wastewater, and/or stormwater utilities; perform services on or off-site research and use analytical skills to stay up to date on emerging technologies and business processes related to asset management and public agency operations; learn and apply a broad range of best management practices with water, wastewater, and/or stormwater utilities including asset management, information management, and maintenance and operations management best practices.  MUST have a bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering or related field and MUST have 2 years of experience as an Environmental or Geodetic Engineer or Technician position with same duties. Periodic travel to utilities across the state within 120 miles of office in Athens, GA.
