Briarcliff Development

Briarcliff is a partial teardown of an existing pre-engineered metal structure and renovation of the exterior shell to provide spaces for new commercial, retail, and medical tenants. This design-build project completely reimagined the façade and site, providing an anchor for new commerce at the top of Broad Street near Alps Road. The project involved the integration of all phases of design on a challenging, existing site, where product and exterior finish material selection continued into the construction phase. Jinya-Ramen Bar

Located in Downtown Athens, Jinya-Ramen Bar opened this branch in Athens on March 2020 and it has become one of the most favorite places in downtown. Previously East West Bistro, AMT architects transformed the space by providing architectural plans for this 3300 SF restaurant while AMT engineers developed the mechanical, electrical, plumbing and gas plans. Ikedodesign provided the franchise’s interior design for this as well as 18 other locations throughout the USA.

John’s Supermarket

As part of a planned renovation of the existing 5,500 square feet grocery, an additional 7,200 square feet of ground retail space and 7,200 square feet of second floor residential development were added. AMT managed all phases of the project from Architecture to Bid and Contract Administration and developed a phasing plan with the contractor which allowed the grocery to remain in operation continuously during the expansion. This phasing plan coordinated Site, Building, Georgia Department of Transportation, Contractor and Owner Operations in a fluid manner, with AMT asked to provide numerous just-in-time solutions for on-site construction issues. Avants Residence

Located within the distinct Crystal Hills neighborhood in Athens, Ga, this gorgeous residence was designed by AMT’s Principal Architect, David Matheny, in 2019. Traditional European new construction included the client’s requests to accommodate a Grand Foyer, Great Room, Large Kitchen, Screened Porch, Library, 2 Bedrooms, and 2 Garages on the First Floor. The Todd Building

For this Design-Build project, AMT provided the design of architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) engineering aspects for the construction of a new 1-Story Office Building (2,540 sq. ft.) and Storage Building (1,320 sq. ft.). Combining the desire for both a contemporary expression and inspiration from traditional architecture, the volume of the building adopts a shed roof combined with storefront and brick walls. Inside the building, the main volume framed by two storefront walls serves as multi-purpose space. Chuck’s Fish House- Outstanding Adaptive Reuse Award

The former downtown bus station in Athens was converted into a first-class, seafood restaurant. AMT teamed up with Lisa Ellis Design to provide designs for the project which won the Historic Athens 2020 Preservation Award for Outstanding Adaptive Reuse. Charles Morgan, a Destin-based restauranteur with a diverse portfolio of restaurant concepts across Florida, Alabama, and Georgia, owns Chuck’s Fish and FIVE Bar in downtown Athens. He chose the location of the former Union Bus Station, which opened in downtown Athens in 1940 and operated as a hub for numerous bus lines, including Greyhound and Trailways, as well as a small.
