David Matheny wins historical awards from the Athens-Clarke Heritage Foundation

During the 48th Annual Preservation Awards Ceremony for projects completed in 2016 by the Athens-Clarke Heritage Foundation, David Matheny, our Director of Architecture and Vice-President, won several awards for his contribution to the preservation of historical buildings.

Firstly, one award was for the Outstanding Rehabilitation of 187 N. Lumpkin St., the Emporium salon building in downtown Athens, renovated by owners Myrna and Denny Field with the assistance of David Matheny. An Outstanding Adaptive Reuse Award was given to Mr. Matheny for his architectural services of the Deupree Building at 458 E. Clayton St. in downtown Athens which was a transformation of the former Junkman’s Daughter’s Brother into an apartment building with commercial space on the bottom floor.
